Join educators and colleagues from across California collaborating around evidence-based practices in early literacy instruction!

Join County Office of Education, District, and Site colleagues, as well as collaborators interested in literacy. Those registered for the Fall 22 event are automatically registered for the March 29th event.

We will host the second part of our literacy PLN to follow-up on the success of our first meeting on March 29, 2023.

March 29, 2023:

Joan Sedita, M.Ed. will kick off our event with a keynote address on the topic of The Writing Rope: Evidence-Based Writing Instruction. You'll then have the opportunity to learn from leaders in our field in breakout sessions on the following topics:

• "Connecting Writing to the Science of Reading: Foundations for Developing Writing in Young Learners"-Lucy Hart Paulson, Ed.D., CCC-SLP
• "Spelling: Visible Language to Inform Instruction and Intervention"-Pam Kastner, Ed.D.
• "The Simple View of Writing: Is it really that simple?"-Amy Siracusano, MS Ed.
• "The Reading Writing Connection"-Carol Tolman, Ed.D.

Following the breakout sessions, you will have the opportunity to meet in regional collaboration rooms with colleagues to brainstorm ways in which you can support one another with this work.
